574 Orphans in Uganda Need Your Love 24/7!
This is Sandra, she is 12 years old. Sandra is one of our older children at the orphanage who will soon transition out of the orphanage in a few more years. Sandra joined the orphanage at the age of 6 as a victim of child abuse. Her mother died from long illness when she was 4 years old. Her father was an alcoholic who remarried. Since her mother’s death her stepmother mistreated her badly. During this abuse she was burned at some point on her back. A church member who knew her mother notified the police and she was brought to the orphanage for safety. Sandra found a place of refuge at the orphanage where she has now been with us for 6 years. She can’t go back to her father and stepmother because they don’t want her around.
We are grateful she has been able to enjoy the love of Jesus in her truth family at the orphanage. Sandra is hoping to go to high school and then university to study to be a lawyer for children like herself who need an advocate against child abuse, especially young girls She is a Jesus girl and loves to sing the Jesus songs as a member of the orphanage choir every Sunday at the Mother Church.
