Lydia is 7 years old. She joined the orphanage at the age of 4 yrs. Lydia is a total orphan having lost both her parents to the AIDs virus. She lived on the streets of Mbale begging for food when a church member picked her up off the street and brought her to the orphanage.
Lydia has built a real family with the other children at the orphanage. She is happy and now has a real sense of hope about her.
The church member who picked her up, Angella is hoping to start her own business so when she becomes financially stable enough she can take Lydia into her care and adopt her, as her daughter.
We are hoping to resettle many of the children like Lydia with members of the church who would be willing to adopt them and take them in their care.
Malaika is a quiet child and loves hearing Bible stories and playing with all her sisters
Gloria is 6 years old. She was brought to the orphanage at 3 years old. Her Father died in a road accident when she was only one year. Her mother was left to fend for her but living in abject poverty she committed suicide.
Gloria went to live with her uncle, but she was mistreated with child labor and molestation. Gloria has scars on her back from her uncle’s beatings.
Gloria ran away after breaking a plate, fearing she would be beaten by her uncle. She ended up on the streets of Mbale at 3 years old. A church member brought her to us for shelter and care.
Gloria has blossomed in the love of Jesus and has become very happy with her new family. She loves to play netball and sing the songs of joy and thanksgiving!
