| Meet Oscar, age 9. Oscar came to the orphanage at just 5 years old after losing both of his parents to HIV/AIDS. He was first cared for by his grandmother, but as her resources became limited, a compassionate neighbor connected her with our orphanage, giving Oscar a chance for a new beginning. When Oscar arrived, he was afraid and heartbroken. Because of your support, he found safety, loving care, and the hope of Jesus Christ. Today, Oscar is thriving. He has made close friends, including his best friend John, and the two enjoy playing soccer together every day! Oscar loves sports, especially soccer, and dreams of becoming a professional player one day. Most of all, he loves Jesus and is known for his joyful smile, because of the love and friendship of all his brothers and sisters at the orphanage. |
Jennifer is 8 years old. She was brought to the orphanage at the age of 5 after losing her mother to breast cancer. Following her mother’s passing, her alcoholic father disowned her and ran away, unwilling to take responsibility for raising her. Jennifer was brought to the orphanage by one of our church members.
We welcomed Jennifer into our family and have raised her with care, providing her with the caring love of Jesus Christ. She has become a happy girl, with many new friends.
Today, Jennifer is joyful and is truly blessed to be at the orphanage, where she is loved and well cared for and she enjoys playing netball with her best friend Alice.
Jennifer also loves reading and writing, and she does well in her classes. Jennifer is very thankful for her new family at the orphanage.
