Jesus Love the Orphans – Please Read & Pray! – 2-14-25 Uganda Update

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”

Do you love me?”… Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.”

Akol is 6 years old and came to us as a little 3-year-old girl having lost her mother to HIV/AIDs. Her mother was a single mom. Akol’s father was an alcoholic who ran away from home when she was a baby. To this day Akol doesn’t really know who her father is.

When Akol lost her mother to HIV she was picked up by a relative to take care of her but in the long run she was abused and put into child labor. When the authorities found out they brought Akol to the orphanage.

We showered Akol with the love of Jesus, bringing her into a new family. She had food and peaceful sleep with many happy children to play with.

Akol was a sad child at first but, all her new friends sharing the love of Jesus has made her a happy little girl. She loves to play netball and read story books.

Carol is 5 years old, and she joined the orphanage as a 2-year-old after having lost both her parents to the mudslides in the Mount Elgon region. She was at her grandmother’s home when the mudslides devastated them, killing both her parents.

Her grandmother tried to take care of her but because of financial strains she brought her to the orphanage. We accepted her because she was a total orphan. Because she was so very young the matron and caretakers made sure to be like a mother to her, taking special and tender care.

During Carol’s time at the orphanage, she has blossomed into a very healthy little 5-year-old girl. She now has many new sisters & brothers and is a very active and playful child.

She likes playing with her best friends, Sheena and Janet, and singing Christian worship songs. She is a joy to be around!
