Edward, in red, is standing next to his best friend Joshua. Edward is eight years old and came to the orphanage as a five-year-old.
Edward was roaming the streets of Mbale as a homeless child. We couldn’t trace his relatives, but a neighbor from his family village told us that both his parents had died in the Ebola pandemic, leaving him homeless, and he had no relatives to take him in.
We took Edward in the care of the orphanage where we natured and provided for him with the love of Jesus. Today Edward is a well-adjusted and happy boy little boy with many friends.
He is brilliant in English and Math. He loves Jesus and is always joyful!
Edith is eight years old and was brought to the orphanage by her Grandmother when she was five years old. Edith lost both her parents to HIV/AIDs.
We accepted Edith because her Grandmother was not in the position to educate and financially support her.
When she joined the orphanage, she was afraid of other children and shy. But as Edith started feeling the love of Jesus in the joy and happiness of the other children, she found a safe place to make her new home. Edith is much happier and has found with many new friends.
Edith loves reading her Bible. Her favorite passage is Psalms 23. She keeps mentioning in her class that “The Lord is my Shepard”!
